Wednesday 11th March, 12.30-2pm: A fairer future for young carers in Surrey
Marking Young Carers Action Day 2025, Wednesday 11th March, and partners, is holding a free online seminar, Fair Futures for Young Carers, to improve the life chances and outcomes for the county’s young carers.
There are likely over 15,000 young carers in Surrey, but the majority are not known, meaning they are missing out on the help available. But when they get the right support, it can have a hugely beneficial effect on their lives and long-term outcomes.
Seminar aims
This seminar brings together professionals from across the sector to deepen understanding, strengthen practice, and celebrate the 15,000+ young carers in Surrey.
Designed to support learning and CPD, the event offers a valuable opportunity for us to share best practice with colleagues and enhance early identification and recognition of young carers.
Our guest speakers will explore key themes including:
- The experiences of the youngest carers
- Young carers that are often invisible
- The impact of Surrey’s Young Carers Strategy
- Transitions into adulthood
- Mental health and wellbeing
